Full Organization Chart for LINAC

The Linac Board of Directors is made up of the Principal Investigators (PI) for each of the major experimental programs at the facility and is chaired by the Linac Technical Director (TD). It’sIts structure is shown in the B194 Organization Chart. The primary function of the Board is to advise the TD regarding facility operations, maintenance, safety, and experimental scheduling. The principal focus of Board meetings and decision making will beis:

• Safe and timely execution of experimental programs
• Allocation of shared people and material resources to support the experimental programs
• Scheduling linac and/or pelletron operation and any required area closures to facilitate safe execution of experiments or and construction activities
• Prioritizing and scheduling maintenance
• Coordinating institutional support
• Coordinating space allocation
• Reviews training requirements
• Reviews the qualifications of new personnel introduced into the facility
• Board members provide backup in the absence of the TD.

Board meetings are scheduled as needed by the TD and are closed. All Board meetings have an agenda prepared by the TD in consultation with the Board. Following each meeting the chairman issues a summary to board members for their review and comment. The Board makes decisions by consensus and the TD makes every effort to facilitate consensus. However, as the Board’s function is advisory, the TD arbitrates those cases where consensus cannot be achieved.
