Heavy Ion Reaction Rates

Hydrogen, Helium, and the Stars of M10

Stellar nuclear reaction rates (in cm3 mole-1 s-1) for the triple-alpha reaction, and the three heavy ion reactions involving 12C and 16O, their inverses, and branching ratios for decay into n, p, alpha, or deuteron channels from the compund nucleus are tabulated for 11 values of temperature.
The density dependence for all reaction channels is set to unity. The 3a reaction has been divided by 6 to account for identical interacting particles, the c12+c12, and o16+o16 reactions have been divided by 2. These three reactions are the primary energy source reactions during stellar core helium, carbon, and oxygen burning, respectively.
