Research Interests
I am presently working on quantum simulations of nanostructures, particularly the solvation behavior of molecular structures in various liquids, and how the structural and electronic properties of the liquid are affected. To this end, we use a variety of simulation techniques, including Density Functional Theory, Quantum Molecular Dynamics, Variational Monte Carlo and Diffusion Monte Carlo.

I also have experience with Path Integral Monte Carlo simulations of superfluid helium. Together with David Ceperley, I have studied the effects of doping a superfluid helium droplet with linear molecular impurities on the energy, density, and superfluid response. We have also calculated the Bose-Einstein condensate fraction throughout a free helium surface.
