Faculty Scholar, EBIT spectroscopy group, PHYSCI

Home base: Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany

General research Interests: Atomic Physics with Accelerators, Heavy-ion Storage Rings and Electron Beam Ion Traps; Specific interests are in atomic lifetime measurements from the picosecond range to many seconds, time resolved spectroscopy in the extreme UV, x-ray and visible ranges, with an eye to data uses in the study of terrestrial and astrophysical plasmas, as well as high multipole order decay modes and decays mediated by hyperfine interaction..

E. T. has been Summer Faculty / Faculty Scholar and Physicist at LLNL since 1997, after an academic career at Bochum and numerous research visits to laboratories in Germany, Sweden, England, and the USA. He has spent several years each working at Oxford (England), Cambridge (New England), and Liège  (Belgium).
